Table salt or Common salt is the most widely and extensively used salt in the world and is chemically known as Sodium Chloride (NaCl).Chemically, it is 60.663% elemental chlorine (Cl) and 39.337% sodium (Na). The atomic weight of elemental chlorine is 35.4527.

Sodium Chloride is derived from the Salt Mines, Lakes and Sea water. The color and the concentration of the salt depends on the origin of the product.
